cab XD4T Labels & Ribbons

The cab XD4T is thermal transfer only. It prints through a thermal ribbon onto label stock, giving print that resists heat, light and abrasion. It cannot print on direct thermal labels without a ribbon.

The cab XD4T takes thermal transfer ribbons up to 4.49" wide, up to 1,181 ft (360 m) long, on a 1" core, wound either coated side in or out. Wax suits coated paper labels, wax-resin handles synthetics and heavier handling, and full resin is the choice for chemical, solvent and outdoor exposure.

The cab XD4T accepts media up to 4.33" wide, with a maximum print width of 4.16". Any narrower label will run as well, so long as the roll core and outside diameter also fit the media bay — width alone is not enough.

The cab XD4T takes rolls on 1.5" / 3" cores, with a maximum roll diameter of 11.81". A roll on a larger core will not seat on the spindle, and one over the diameter limit will not let the cover close.

Yes. Because the cab XD4T prints thermal transfer, it can image polypropylene, polyester and other synthetic facestocks that direct thermal printers cannot mark. Pair them with a wax-resin or full resin ribbon; wax will not anchor properly to a synthetic surface.

Yes — 4" × 6" sits inside this printer's media width. This model is thermal transfer, so pair 4×6 thermal transfer labels with a suitable ribbon rather than buying direct thermal stock.

Yes. The cab XD4T accepts fan-folded stacks as well as rolls. A fanfold box holds far more labels than a roll of equivalent footprint, so it is the cheaper way to run high volume — the trade-off is bench space behind the printer.
