Every BIXOLON desktop takes outside-wound ribbon only — the manuals are explicit that inward-facing ribbon cannot be used, which rules out Datamax-wound stock. The XT5 industrial models accept either wind. The XT5-46 is a 600 dpi 4-inch printer, not a 6-inch one.
