Which 4×6 label do you need? Three questions about your printer
1Does your printer use a ribbon?
No ribbon: Direct Thermal. Most shipping printers work this way. Lowest cost per label, suited to parcels delivered within weeks.
Has a ribbon: either type works. Choose Thermal Transfer when labels must survive sunlight, heat, rubbing or long storage.
2Roll or fanfold?
Roll: sits on a spindle inside the printer. Standard for most desktop and industrial printers.
Fanfold: a zig-zag stack fed through a slot at the back. No core to match and fewer changeovers. Pick it when your printer has a rear feed slot.
3Rolls only: what core size?
1″ core: desktop printers (Zebra ZD, Brother TD, Honeywell PC series). The roll fits inside the cover.
3″ core: industrial printers (Zebra ZT, SATO CL-NX, Honeywell PM/PX). More labels per roll, fewer changes.
Measure the hole in your current roll. Finger-width is 1″. Paper-towel-tube width is 3″.

4×6 shipping label questions
Do these work with Canada Post, UPS, FedEx and Purolator?
Yes. 4″ × 6″ is the standard size that every major courier’s label software prints to.
Will these fit a Rollo printer?
Yes. Rollo and similar 4×6 shipping printers print direct thermal. Use our 4×6 direct thermal fanfold.
Will these fit a DYMO LabelWriter?
DYMO LabelWriter 4XL and 5XL printers use DYMO-specific rolls, and the 5XL only accepts DYMO-chipped labels. Call us with your model and we’ll confirm the options.
Can I use direct thermal labels in a ribbon printer?
Yes. Remove the ribbon and switch the printer to direct thermal mode in its settings.
How long does a case last?
At 100 parcels a day, a 6,000-label case of 1″ core rolls lasts about 12 weeks. At 25 a day, about 48 weeks.
What does “wound in” vs “wound out” mean?
Which way the labels face on the roll. Wound out (labels on the outside) is the default for most printers. Some industrial printers and applicators need wound in.
Will a 1″ core roll fit a 3″ core printer?
Only with a core adapter. A 3″ core roll does not fit a desktop printer’s 1″ spindle.
When do I need freezer-grade adhesive?
When labels go on cold or frozen packaging. Standard permanent adhesive can lift in the cold.
How much is shipping?
GTA flat rate from $20, plus $5 for each extra box. Rest of Canada: carrier rates calculated at checkout, before you pay. A single case adds a $20 small order fee; 2 or more cases waive it.
Why are labels sold by the case?
Case quantities keep the cost per label low. Each product lists labels per roll and rolls per case.
