POSTEK OX318 Ribbons & Labels
IndustrialOX Series
The POSTEK OX318 is an industrial thermal transfer and direct thermal printer, one of 8 models in the OX Series range. It prints up to 6.6" wide and takes media up to 7.09". That is a wider head than the 4.09" the rest of the OX Series range carries. Media loads as rolls up to 9" in diameter on cores of 3". Ribbons run up to 1,968 ft, 6.93" wide, on a 1" core. Its documented media path is roll-fed only, with no fanfold slot.

POSTEK OX318 — Frequently Asked Questions
Is the POSTEK OX318 direct thermal or thermal transfer?
The POSTEK OX318 does both. In thermal transfer mode it prints through a ribbon for durable, long-life labels; in direct thermal mode it prints straight onto heat-sensitive stock with no ribbon at all, which is how most shipping labels are produced.
What size ribbon does the POSTEK OX318 use?
The POSTEK OX318 takes thermal transfer ribbons up to 6.93" wide, up to 1,968 ft (600 m) long, on a 1" core, wound either coated side in or out. Wax suits coated paper labels, wax-resin handles synthetics and heavier handling, and full resin is the choice for chemical, solvent and outdoor exposure.
What label sizes fit the POSTEK OX318?
The POSTEK OX318 accepts media up to 7.09" wide, with a maximum print width of 6.6". Any narrower label will run as well, so long as the roll core and outside diameter also fit the media bay — width alone is not enough.
What roll core size does the POSTEK OX318 take?
The POSTEK OX318 takes rolls on 3" cores, with a maximum roll diameter of 9". A roll on a larger core will not seat on the spindle, and one over the diameter limit will not let the cover close.
Can the POSTEK OX318 print on synthetic or outdoor labels?
Yes. Because the POSTEK OX318 prints thermal transfer, it can image polypropylene, polyester and other synthetic facestocks that direct thermal printers cannot mark. Pair them with a wax-resin or full resin ribbon; wax will not anchor properly to a synthetic surface.
Can the POSTEK OX318 print 4" × 6" shipping labels?
Yes — 4" × 6" sits inside this printer's media width, and it prints them as direct thermal with no ribbon, which is the standard setup for courier and marketplace labels.
Does the POSTEK OX318 take fanfold labels?
Its published media list covers roll-fed stock only, with no external fanfold path documented. If you are running fanfold today, check with us before ordering — some models gained a rear slot in later revisions.
Where can I buy labels and ribbons for the POSTEK OX318 in Canada?
Vantage Labels stocks blank thermal labels and printer ribbons that fit the POSTEK OX318, shipped from Canadian stock. Everything listed on this page has been checked against the printer's published media specifications — width, core, roll diameter and ribbon format — rather than matched on the printer's name.
