The Godex DT2x is a desktop direct thermal printer, one of 5 models in the RT200 / DT2x Desktop 2-inch range. It prints up to 2.12" wide and takes media up to 2.36". Media loads as rolls up to 5" in diameter on cores of 1" / 1.5". There is no ribbon to buy — the DT2x prints straight onto heat-sensitive direct thermal labels. Its documented media path is roll-fed only, with no fanfold slot.

Godex DT2x — Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Godex DT2x direct thermal or thermal transfer?
The Godex DT2x is direct thermal only. It applies heat directly to heat-sensitive label stock, so labels are the single consumable — there is no ribbon to buy or replace.
What ribbon does the Godex DT2x use?
None. The Godex DT2x is a direct thermal printer, so there is no ribbon — it images heat-sensitive labels directly. If print on your labels fades in heat or sunlight, that is the direct thermal stock behaving normally, not a printer fault.
What label sizes fit the Godex DT2x?
The Godex DT2x accepts media up to 2.36" wide, with a maximum print width of 2.12". Any narrower label will run as well, so long as the roll core and outside diameter also fit the media bay — width alone is not enough.
What roll core size does the Godex DT2x take?
The Godex DT2x takes rolls on 1" / 1.5" cores, with a maximum roll diameter of 5". A roll on a larger core will not seat on the spindle, and one over the diameter limit will not let the cover close.
Does the Godex DT2x take fanfold labels?
Its published media list covers roll-fed stock only, with no external fanfold path documented. If you are running fanfold today, check with us before ordering — some models gained a rear slot in later revisions.
Does the Godex DT2x take 3-inch core rolls?
No. The Godex DT2x takes 1" / 1.5" cores. A 3" core roll — the usual industrial format — will not fit its spindle, so check the core before ordering, not just the label size.
Why won't my label roll fit the Godex DT2x?
Three things stop a roll loading in this printer: the roll is over 5" in diameter; the core is not 1" / 1.5". Label width is usually the first thing people check and the least likely culprit — core size is the common one.
Where can I buy labels for the Godex DT2x in Canada?
Vantage Labels stocks blank thermal labels that fit the Godex DT2x, shipped from Canadian stock. Everything listed on this page has been checked against the printer's published media specifications — width, core, roll diameter and ribbon format — rather than matched on the printer's name.
